Dear New Yorkers, do you remember Normcore? Google said it already began falling. The name really started popularizing in 2014 when New York Magazine published an article about it. Millennials, especially the 18 to 24 years old cool young kids, used to follow this anti-fashion trend to style themselves for attitude and freedom. For them, it was a way to show their characters out of some of the everyday essentials- relaxed jeans, white socks, turtlenecks, cotton jersey, baseball caps, and even Crocs. Black, white, gray, and jeans blue were seen everywhere on the street.
Color enthusiasts may have a love-hate relationship with Normcore; sometimes, it is just…boring. It is not just about the blankness from the lack of colors; it is the irritating facial expressions and attitude that people wear with Normcore outfits. What is this boredom? You probably feel it strongly when you see everything being dead in a cold winter. We love all shades of black, but we do not like the boredom, do we?
Fortunately, PANTONE never gives up producing new color trends for designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer. For Fall 2016, which is also applicable for Winter 2016, PANTONE has selected ten colors, as they introduced, “a unity of strength, confidence, and complexity.” These tones have a touch of tranquility, but they refuse to stay unheeded by showing their brightness from underneath. We are so thrilled to show you how some of these colors have been used for our couples' exquisite events.
